In this article, you learn how to change menu items and which navigations are available.
How can I change menu items?
To change menu links, please follow these steps:
- Go to “Menu Structure” (Path: “Content” > “Menu Structure”)
- Please select the menu you would like to adapt
- Click "Edit menu"
- If you would like to change a menu link, search the corresponding link and click "Edit". Now, adapt the menu title and relative link* accordingly. Make sure to enable the link to ensure visibility in the frontend.
- If you would like to add a new menu link, click on the button to add a new link. Now, insert a menu title and a relative link*. Make sure to enable the link to ensure visibility in the frontend.
- After saving the menu links, you can rearrange the order via drag & drop.
Note: it is also possible to have child menu items - just drag the items beneath the parent menu item you would like to nest it under - Finally, make sure to save all changes.
* When inserting links on menus or landing pages, please always use relative paths (e.g. /platform-and-features) instead of absolute paths (www.jobiqo.com/platform-and-features). In case we have to move the site to another URL (e.g. during Go Live), you will save a lot of time when using the relative links.
Please note: Make sure not to delete any existing menus, as this could result in UX issues for users.
Available navigations
Header navigation
For anonymous users
For logged-out or anonymous users, the items of the "main navigation" are shown. The main navigation ideally contains the links to the most relevant pages of the job board, for both applicants and recruiters.
For logged-in users
Depending on the user role, the "main navigation" is replaced by the "applicant menu" or the "recruiter menu" if the user is logged in. The applicant menu should include only menu items that are relevant to applicants, whereas the recruiter menu should include only links that are important for recruiters.
Footer navigation
For both logged-in users and anonymous users, the footer navigation is displayed. The footer navigation consists of three separate menus:
- "Footer about us"
- "Footer for applicants"
- "Footer for recruiters"
Side menus for logged-in users
Applicants and recruiters that are logged access a side menu. The side menu can be collapsed and expanded by triggering the arrow on the lower right corner.
- "Side menu applicants"
- "Side menu recruiter"
Backend Menu
The "site admin menu" is shown on the left side when registered as a site admin user in the backend.
Adapting the menu icons of the side menus
For side menus, icons can be added by using the "Class field" in the "Attributes" section of the menu item. Please insert the class names stated in the table below to obtain access to the icons. If no class name is inserted, a default icon is shown (see the last row).
