In many cases, the size of the background image that is shown to the user will depend on the amount of text that you are placing in this section of the landing page. We recommend here to first add the text and formatting that you want to have displayed before adding an appropriately sized image. The background image that is displayed on top of text will always fit the text in order to cover it completely (see e.g. hero section row) so if it has more text it would show more of the image, if it has less text it might show less, and also different devices will have different ratios and also affect the way the image is shown.
The platform is able to scale images if they are too small, however, keep in mind that this can negatively impact the quality of the image.
Resolution
There are a couple of images where we have, however, minimum requirements for the images to ensure a cohesive and high-quality look of the job board:
- Background image of the Landing page Hero sections: Minimum of 1920 x 1080px
- Logos for company profiles and job postings: Minimum of 180 x 180px; if your logo is not squared by default, a white background is added to it.
- Cover image on the company profile: Minimum of 1920 x 500px
- Image on login page: Minimum of 760x840px
- Split screen image:
- SVG file
- A maximum of 800x800 px, and a width of 800 px is recommended (the image does not necessarily have to be squared).
- The image should not include any text as it may be difficult the text on small screens
Imagery
We highly recommend not using any images that include elements that are absolutely crucial to show. Please remember that your job board will look different on every device, so there is always the chance that the image is cut off on some devices. The safe option is to use images such as nature/buildings, abstract art, and a crowd of people while avoiding images that show a person's face. In addition, please use your own images instead of Jobiqo standard images.
