* Highly dependent on the structure and order of the texts in the document and whether content can be correctly extracted and displayed. The full-text search is limited for job via file and job via link as the text from external files or links cannot be browsed through. However, jobiqo’s categorisations with various taxonomies such as occupational field, and employment type help to increase findability.
** Data such as job title, location, company, occupational fields, etc. can be adjusted by administrators or employers at any time. External content (via link) or content within the file cannot be changed.
Note that certain job types can be deactivated in order to provide you with more freedom on which formats you wish to offer to your clients. This is defined during the project delivery and can be set up by Jobiqo. In addition, there is the option to introduce a “review process” for all job types so that administrators of the job board can check all incoming new jobs before publication. If you are interested, please reach out to your point of contact and we will inform you about timings and potential costs.
Job via template
Let’s start with our recommendation, the job via template. With this option, employers directly insert the text for the job description in the job wizard.
Advantages:
- With this job type, you can expect better user experience and job performance.
- The full-text search allows you to also search within the job description, which also brings additional value for SEO. Additional taxonomies can further improve findability.
- Aligning to the look and feel of the job board’s design.
- Higher flexibility and better control of the content: Job board admins can adjust the job description at any time if needed. This is especially important for job boards that review jobs before publication.
- Easy recognition of the company: if a cover image, an image or video gallery is available on the company profile, then this content is also used on job postings using this type. The cover image of the company profile will be used the cover image of the job posting and the images and videos of the galleries are displayed towards the end of the job posting.
Disadvantages:
- No individual client design is possible (content like cover image, image and video gallery is taken from the company profile and displayed on all jobs of that company).

Job via file
An external file (pdf) can be uploaded. The depiction of the content usually differs between desktop and mobile views:
- Desktop: The file is displayed directly via a PDF reader or as an image.
- Mobile: For better usability, the job posting shows the extracted content of the job description if the file is a PDF, provided that the file comes with a readable structure. A button "Original Ad" links to the file in a new tab.
Advantages:
- For desktop, the job comes directly in the client’s corporate design and thus more flexibility in designing the job posting.
- Occupational fields and other taxonomies can be selected and additionally entered for better findability.
Disadvantages:
- Not aligning with the look and feel of the job board’s design.
- The full-text search cannot read the job description but only allows you to find the job with tagged taxonomy terms.
- The mobile display of the extracted text strongly depends on the quality of the PDF and can influence the structure and content of the description.
- The display and embedding of the PDF also depend on which PDF reader is installed in the browser (see examples below).
- Job board admins cannot alter the job description text. This is especially important for job boards that review jobs before publishing them.
The following screenshot shows a comparison between the illustration of PDFs in different browsers (Left: Microsoft Edge, Right: Google Chrome):

Job via link
This job type allows employers to easily paste a link from an external site.
If the original site allows iFrames, Jobiqo shows the iFrame in the desktop version of the job. If iFrames are blocked from the source site, the system will display an error message and, thus, cannot display the job correctly. As for mobile, Jobiqo shows the extracted text content for a better user experience. The button "Original Ad" links to the original link in a new tab. Mind that in some cases, no job description can be extracted from the source site. Employers can add or change the job description to improve the text quality and formatting for mobile.
Advantages:
- For desktop, the job comes directly in the client’s corporate design if iFrames are allowed.
- Occupational fields and other taxonomies can be selected and additionally entered for better findability.
Disadvantages:
- Only for employers where the original site allows setting iFrames.
- The job does not align with the look and feel of the job board’s design.
- The full-text search cannot read the job description but only allows you to find the job with tagged taxonomy terms.
- The depiction of both desktop and mobile highly depends on the quality of the original site and, thus, impacts the structure and parsed text content. Common issues are that irrelevant text is extracted only, or that the desktop view includes a cookie banner or the entire main navigation of the original site.
- Job board admins cannot alter the job description text for desktop. This is especially important for job boards that review jobs before publishing them.
