Jobiqo tracks user acquisition, on-site interaction, and conversion data for job boards on the Jobiqo Decoupled platform via Google Analytics 4 (GA4). GA4 is the latest analytics service from Google, officially replacing the existing Google Universal Analytics service from July 2023.
In this guide, we will provide a general overview and introduction of the Google Analytics 4 interface, as well as cover which custom KPIs are tracked for job board-specific events.
What is an analytics service?
Every user that comes to your job board comes from somewhere (Google search, newsletters, advertisements, partner sites, etc.), and having access to this information can help guide business decisions and resource allocation.
Furthermore, GA4 also closely follows your users once they have arrived on your job board and as they navigate through your pages. This provides valuable insights into which pages they visit, how long they spend on your site, how they use your job search, which jobs they visit, and to which jobs they submit an application.
GA4 captures this “Acquisition” and “Behavior” data and consequently enables you to easily access, view, and analyze this information through the GA4 interface.
Accessing your Google Analytics 4 property
As a part of the setup process of your job board, the Jobiqo team will configure the Google Analytics 4 tracking for you. Please request access to your property from your Project Manager or Customer Success Manager.
Once you have access, you can find your GA4 property here: https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/
Navigation overview
In the top left corner you will find the main navigation points of GA4:
- Home: The Home page shows a top-level overview of metrics that are most relevant to you and your site. The page is dynamically deciding which information and metrics to display based on your usage of GA4.
- Reports: The Reports page contains the reports on the data for your job board. In the “Reports - where to find your data” chapter below, a more detailed description of each report can be found.
- Explore: On the Explore page, you can configure custom reports, enabling you to pull in and combine any events, parameters, and metrics to perform detailed analysis.
- Advertising: If you are running advertisements you can link your GA4 property to your Google Ads account and view detailed performance data in the Advertising view.
- Configure: In the Configure page, you can configure Events, Conversion, Audiences, Custom Definitions, and access the DebugView to test if your tracking is working correctly. In the “Jobiqo Analytics” chapter below, more information can be found on custom events, dimensions, and parameters.
