This is a step-by-step guide for creating new blog posts.
- Administrators can create new blog posts by accessing the backend side menu 'Content' > 'Blog" (or directly via the link /admin/content/blog). The blog administration view offers a list of all posts available and a button in the top right to add a new post.
- Click the button "Create new post"
- You will see a new form, as in the screenshot below
- Please fill in the form by filling out the following fields. Fields marked with * are required for a post:
- Title *
- Summary: Short plain text to add some introduction to the teaser
- Category *: Refers to the taxonomy "Blog category" and allows one value per article.
- Tags: Refers to the taxonomy "Tags" and allows to not only add multiple values per term, the field also allows to freely create new tags right in this view.
- Date *:
- The date that appears on the frontend and influences the search ranking (most recent articles are on top).
- Note that it is not automatically reset when the article is updated. It is also not connected to the "created" date in "Authoring information" in the sidebar.
- Author: Free text field that appears on the frontend.
- Image *: Image upload which is used for the teaser and header image. Once uploaded, you can add the copyright information of the image in the field "caption".
- Featured: If enabled, the blog post will appear as "featured article" / "advertorial" in the top row.
- Content rows *: You can add an unlimited number of paragraphs to a post. Please find more information on available content row types in this article.
- If you wish to publish the article already, make sure to set the article to "Published".
- Click "Save".
