Organisation mapping connects imported jobs to existing organisations on your site. It is recommended, but not mandatory.
You can assign all jobs from a feed to one organisation or match each job to an organisation using a name or ID.
Why map jobs to organisations?
When a job is assigned to an organisation with a published profile:
- The job teaser and job detail page link to the company profile.
- The job appears on the company profile.
- If the XML feed does not provide a job logo, the organisation’s logo is used instead.
- For jobs posted by template, the company profile’s cover image, image gallery and video gallery are included on the job detail page, if available.
Before you start
The organisations you want to assign jobs to must already exist in your backend. Create any missing organisations before setting up the mapping.
Open the relevant importer under Jobs > Job Importers and select the Edit tab. Enable “Mapping organizations” to activate organisation mapping.
Then choose one of the methods below.
1. Assign all jobs to one organisation
Use this option when all jobs from the feed should belong to the same organisation.
- Enable “Mapping organizations”.
- Leave “Mapping organization source” set to “Organization name”.
- In “Organization reference”, select the organisation.
- Save your changes.
All jobs imported through this importer will be assigned to the selected organisation.
2. Match jobs to organisations using feed data
Use this option when the feed contains jobs from different organisations. The importer reads the organisation name or ID for each job and looks for a matching organisation in your backend.
You need to choose which value to match and tell the importer where to find it in the XML feed.
- Open the importer’s Edit tab and enable “Mapping organizations”.
- Choose a “Mapping organization source” from the options below.
- Open XPath Parser Settings and fill in the corresponding field.
The XPath tells the importer where to find the name or ID within each job’s XML data. Enter the path to that value, not the organisation name or ID itself. For help identifying the correct path, see the Configuration Guide.
Save your changes, then run the import and check that the jobs are assigned to the correct organisations.
Map by organisation name
The organisation name in the feed must match the name of the existing organisation on your site exactly.
Different spellings, name variations or names of child organisations can prevent a match. If your feed contains these variations, contact your Project Manager or CSM to discuss the available options.
Map by internal organisation ID
Use this option when the feed contains the organisation’s internal ID from your site.
To find the ID, download the CSV file from the organisation overview in the backend at /admin/jobiqo/organizations. The internal organisation ID is listed there as the group ID.
The feed must provide the corresponding ID for each job you want to map.
Map by External Client ID
Use this option when the feed identifies organisations using IDs from an external system.
Enter the corresponding value in the organisation’s external ID field, available when editing its basic information in the backend. The feed must provide the same value for each job you want to assign to that organisation.
ID-based mapping avoids relying on organisation names. It can also help assign jobs with different organisation names to the same company, provided they use the same matching ID.
What happens if no organisation matches?
At each import, the system checks for an existing organisation with the matching name or ID.
If no match is found, the job is still imported, but it is not assigned to an existing organisation. The organisation name from the feed is displayed as free text instead.
For ID-based mapping, every job you want to map must include the relevant organisation ID in the feed. Without a matching ID, the importer cannot assign it to the organisation.
Check the mapping
After running the import, review a few jobs to confirm that they are assigned to the correct organisations. If a job is not assigned as expected, check that:
- “Mapping organizations” is enabled.
- The selected mapping source matches the type of value in the feed.
- The XPath points to the correct name or ID.
- The corresponding organisation exists in the backend.
- The name or ID matches the value stored on the organisation.
